DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities for this position are to provide counsel on IP (especially patent) matters to the company’s personnel in China.This position also works with colleagues at the company’s other global locations on matters and projects to secure and protect IP rights.In specific, duties include:
- Preparing patent applications for filing in China
- Counseling R&D personnel on patentability
- Evaluating competitive patentability; advising on right to practice and infringement issues
- Training personnel on IP matters
- Providing support for drafting and negotiation of secrecy, research and consulting agreements
- Working on team to provide counsel for merger, acquisition, joint venture, divestiture and licensing matters
REQUIREMENTS:
- BS degree in chemistry, chemical engineering or a related technical field
- Patent Agent Qualification Certificate in PRC - preferred
- 5+ years experience in patent case drafting and prosecution, freedom to practice opinions and client counseling
- Critical thinking skills; team work; working at highest ethical standards
