THE EMPLOYER:
Our client is a US Fortune 500 company. It pioneered semiconductor memory products and has developed technology enabling the computer and Internet revolution. The company supplies the computing and communications industries with chips, boards, systems, and software.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
The attorney in this position will work with the Director of Legal Affairs, China, to support site facility setup, infrastructure readiness, ramp up and other daily legal operations.Roles and responsibilities are:
- Involvement in post-licensing legal advice, negotiation, documentation and execution of various contracts and commitments of the company entered into with the host site governmental departments and other third parties
- Sit on the site management staff and provide all required legal support
- Responsible for the formation of the site-specific legal strategy and implementation of the strategy
- Establishment of legal infrastructure for the operating entity; provide training to the site management and employees
- Coordinate and interact with various legal and business stakeholders; work with different functional parties to maximize corporate interests and deliver the “best in class” operation for the company
- As a member of the China Legal Team, s/he is expected to support other legal projects and programs for the company’s operations in China
REQUIREMENTS:
- 12+ years in an in-house legal department of a MNC and/or a reputable law firm
- Law degree(s) from reputable Chinese and/or overseas law school(s)
- PRC bar qualification or other developed jurisdiction
- Excellent communication skills
- Good language skills in both English and Chinese
- Ability to work on a team with people from multiple cultures and get results
- Ability to work on multiple tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong leadership skills (a “take charge” individual)
- Responsible, accountable, energetic and hardworking
