 THE EMPLOYER:
Our client is a joint-venture of Morgan Stanley, one U.S. public listed retail real estate company and one major Chinese real estate developer.The JV has invested over RMB 3 billion in major Chinese cities.
Our client is seeking a senior in-house lawyer to join them as the head of its legal team.The position is based in Shenzhen.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide high quality legal consultation on a wide spectrum of business, ranging from financing, leasing, real estate investment, shopping mall management to the company daily management
- Follow company’s projects all over China to advise and avoid potential legal risks
- Handle company’s arbitration and lawsuit
- Review, draft, negotiate and finalize the company’s commercial agreements, legal documents and contracts
- Ensure legal compliance in commercial decisions and in other business activities
- Strong leadership to lead and build a professional and efficient legal team with good legal processes
REQUIREMENTS:
- Law degree from a reputable China law school and/or from an overseas law school
- PRC bar qualification
- 8+ years of legal experience in a leading MNC, international law firm or top-tier local firm
- Good understanding of China legal system and regulations
- Experience as a leader of multi-disciplinary project and management teams
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, presentation and negotiation skills, and interpersonal skills in both English and Chinese
- Willing to travel when necessary
