THE EMPLOYER:

Our client is a one of the world's largest manufacturers of heavy trucks, buses and construction equipment, with production in 25 countries and operations in more than 185 markets.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

The successful candidate will support company’s business operations and core values through the provision of legal services under the supervision of the head of the China legal department. Roles and responsibilities are:

• Manage legal issues as they relate to the companies or operations including corporate governance, regulatory compliance, dispute, IP, employment, environment and commercial contracts (e.g. purchasing, marketing, distribution and import & export);
• Counsel senior management on legal risks associated with various alternative means for achieving business objectives
• Monitor, analyze and comment on legal or regulatory changes and potential impact on the business operations and brief the senior management of the same
• Oversee the preparation and interpretation of legal reports, statements or other documents
• Provide internal training on legal or regulatory issues
• Manage outside legal service providers
• Interface with registration or regulatory bodies as required from daily operations

REQUIREMENTS:

• 5 -10 years of experience with international law firm or corporate law department of MNC
• Law degree(s) from reputable Chinese and/or overseas law school(s)
• PRC bar qualification or other developed jurisdiction
• Ability to use both Chinese and English as working languages both verbally and in writing
• Proficient skills in the following areas: in-depth knowledge of PRC law and its general practice (in particular, PRC company, contract and FDI laws), drafting and reviewing commercial contracts, statutory interpretation, negotiation, problem solving and analysis
• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
