THE EMPLOYER:

Our client is an international technology corporation that serves customers in the pulp and paper industry, rock and minerals processing, and power generation.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position covers both the company structure issues as well as Business Transactions. S/he will report directly to the company China Administrative Head, and functionally to the global General Counsel. The main responsibilities are:

• Company juridical structure planning, implementation and maintenance
• Legal research and advise the management on legal development that may have effect on company’s business
• Make sure the compliance of the company’s business in China
• Standard contract formulation and implementation
• Review and draft contracts (Sales, Purchase, administrative...), and participate in business negotiations
• Basic training to company staff on contracts
• Dispute resolution (Arbitration, litigation…)
• Contact point for the company headquarter Legal Department and outside counsel
• Insurances
• Credit risk analyses & Background checks
• Other Legal and Administrative Issues

REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum 8 years experience in legal department of a foreign invested enterprise in China or in a respected law firm in China
• Law degree(s) from reputable law school(s)
• Good knowledge in the Chinese Contract law and juridical procedures
• Good knowledge in laws and regulations concerning FIE in China
• PRC bar – desired
• Overseas studies or work experience with multinational company – preferred
• Strong problem solving and conflict resolution skills
