After setting up its first Chinese office in Shanghai in 2005, the company has seven branches in Shanghai, Beijing and Suzhou with 230 staff members dealing in flexible staffing, payroll and search and selection business.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position will manage the Greater China legal team on all matters requiring legal involvement including general commercial matters, transactions, corporate governance of legal entities in China (in co-operation with Corporate Legal Department and outside counsel).
Key responsibilities
- Handle legal disputes
- Establish general business terms (purchasing, sales, service, guaranty)
- Advise business units in China concerning securing data / environmental protection
- Advise corporate departments about Chinese law and new legislation
- Co-ordinate establishment of new company activities in China
Service functions
- Advise business units in China in contract law and liability law
- Establish and keep contacts to regulatory government agencies; liaise with government bodies / authorities (central/local)
- Support business units in China
- on questions concerning legal involvement
- in all regulatory / office matter
- in conjunction with the acquisition or sale of business activities
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years work experience in legal department of multinational corporation(s) or reputable law firm(s)
- Law degree(s) from reputable law school(s)
- Familiar with corporate law and Chinese labor law
- Obliged to high standards of quality and customer orientation
- Team player with excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Good contacts to relevant authorities in China
- Mature, self-confident, independently thinking
