THE EMPLOYER:

Headquartered in Australia, our client is the Asian region's leading provider of integrated logistic services.The company has operations in road, rail, sea and air with an extensive network of over 1,000 sites worldwide. It employs over 35,000 people.

As a key market, the company’s business in China grows rapidly.Currently, it is seeking a Legal Counsel, to be located in Shanghai, which is a core area of the company in China.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

The successful candidate will take an important role in handling legal matters in the Greater China area.In particular, duties include:

• Provide advice and support on risk management, compliance and other legal related matters
• Follow-up and research on the latest local laws and regulations
• Draft, review, revise and maintain various legal agreements and contracts
• Manage law suits, economic arbitrations and labor disputes on behalf of the company
• Participate in handling the credit and debt affairs
• Investigate, handle and manage major crises and incidents
• Provide legal trainings to internal units at various levels

REQUIREMENTS:

• Law degree from reputable school(s)
• PRC bar qualification
• 5+ years of relevant experience in legal divisions of MNC(s) and / or reputable law firm(s); work experience in logistic industry – preferred
• Experience with Taiwanese law would be highly regarded
• Responsible, hardworking, self-motivated, team-player
• Strong business acumen
• Excellent written and communication skills in both English and Chinese
