THE EMPLOYER:
Our client is one of the world’s largest solar module producers. As a leading provider of photovoltaic cells, modules and custom-designed solar power applications, the Group delivers uncompromising value to its customers across the globe.
As a key market, the Group’s business in China is mature. Currently, it is seeking a Legal Counsel, to be located in Suzhou.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful candidate will take a leadership role in company’s legal affairs in a corporate environment.S/he will work closely with the internal and external units in handling a variety of legal matters.Duties include:
- Provide support in various areas related to legal and ethical compliance
- Assist company’s board of directors and senior executives with reviewing all the legal documents and providing legal opinions
- Make proposals and to management on achieving business objectives in compliance with local legal requirements
- Review and draft commercial contracts, legal documents with minimum supervision
- Research and obtain information from local outside counsel on local laws/regulations and pending legislation which may affect business objectives
- Closely work with the other business team in risk management
- Conduct legal administrative and filing responsibilities
- Handle / facilitate the administrative license, registration and / or de-registration matters for all Group's entities and offices
- Provide training to business or functional teams
REQUIREMENTS:
- LLB from a reputable law school or above
- 5+ years of relevant experience in legal division of local company(s) and / or MNC(s), or reputable law firm(s)
- Overseas corporate and legal environment working experience is strongly preferred
- Excellent written and communication skills in both English and Chinese
- Responsible, hardworking, self-motivated, detail-oriented, team-player
- Good interpersonal and leadership skills
- Proficient in MS software
