THE EMPLOYER:

This is a leading multinational corporation in gases for industry, health and the environment.The company operates in 60+ countries worldwide and employs 30,000+ people.

Currently, the company is seeking China Legal Head, to be located in Shanghai.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

The successful candidate will take a leading role in the China Legal Department.S/he will be directly supervised by the VP-Asia and functionally supervised by the VP-Legal of the Company who is based in the headquarters.Duties include

• Manage all legal affairs and issues of the company in PRC
• Prepare and administrate contracts / agreements (international and indigenous) with vendors, clients and government
• Provide analysis and legal counsel on various matters that involve legal risks
• Ensure high standards of corporate governance by putting in place appropriate controls with respect to compliance
• Keep liaison and communicate with external organizations such as counsel, government and administration, vendors, suppliers, etc. on legal related issues

REQUIREMENTS:

• Law degree from reputable university
• PRC bar qualification is advantageous
• 15+ years of solid legal experience in legal function with at least 3 years in a head-legal position in MNC(s)
• Exposure to international import and export contracts and legal complications, prominent international laws for contracts such as laws of Singapore and Switzerland and international arbitration procedures
• Solid knowledge on Business Law, Corporate Law and Company Law
• Good organizational, analytical, negotiation, leading and people management skills
• Effective, responsible, hardworking, self-motivated, result- oriented, team-player
• Strong business acumen
• Excellent written and oral skills in English and Chinese
