Founded in 1908, our client is a reputable US law firm, recognized as one of the best law firms to work with in the United States.Over the years, the firm has grown beyond its roots in the Pacific Northwest, and now has nine offices across the United States and China.
The firm is seeking a Senior Associate / Junior Partner to join its Shanghai legal team.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful candidate will provide legal advice in one or more of the following areas:
- Corporate finance (IPO and M&A)
- Employment law (Chinese labor law for foreign clients)
- Construction financing
- General corporate maintenance
- Banking
The successful candidate is expected to supervise and mentor junior attorneys and assist them with developing professional competencies.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Law degree from a reputable China law school and/or LLM or JD from a US law school
- US bar admission — a must; PRC bar admission — desired
- Over 5 years practicing law in China with international law firm or leading PRC firm; Overseas work experience will be a plus
- Experience in a variety of law specialty/practices — preferred
- Ability to supervise the work of junior level attorneys and legal consultants
- Strong skills and willingness to assist in mentoring junior attorneys’ professional development
- Excellent written and oral skills in English and Chinese
