Our client is a “Magic Circle” firm with more than 2,500 lawyers in 31 offices worldwide.Across three China offices (Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong), there are more than 100 lawyers who are significantly involved in the China practice.

With the expansion of China legal business, the firm is seeking a Marketing Assistant / Executive to join its Beijing office.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

The successful candidate will join the PRC BD team in delivering business critical marketing and business development support to the business in mainland China.S/he will work closely with the Beijing-based senior BD executive as well as the Shanghai BD team and provide day-to-day, practical marketing and business development support and advice.Key responsibilities include:

  • Research, coordinate and prepare proposals and credentials statements for different practice areas
  • Responsible for the availability and consistency of the BD 'basics’, including client and target lists, credentials, CVs and marketing material such as brochures etc.
  • Work with internal BD teams to maintain market / client intelligence where relevant to partners and lawyers as well as using internal communications tools to raise the profile globally of the China practice
  • Provide research for BD initiatives, clients meetings and pitches
  • Work with PRC BD team and lawyers to identify new client, client relationship building and market targeting opportunities
  • Assist in drafting, implementation and ongoing review of BD plans
  • Assist in external marketing communications and liaise with external suppliers and organizations
  • Drafting annual legal directory entries/submissions

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 1-2 years of substantial relevant marketing experience in a professional / partnership environment
  • Have a real interest in business and a desire to deepen understanding of various practice areas
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English and Mandarin
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Well organized, analytical, independent, ability to multitask and work under pressure
  • Responsive, self-motivated, resourceful, proactive, creative and enthusiastic
  • Attention to detail
