THE EMPLOYER:

A reputable Australia law firm is looking for Associate focused on the area of Banking & Finance, based in its Beijing office.

This commercial law firm is among the largest law firm in Australia and provides wide range of legal services to clients mainly in Asia-Pacific region.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

The successful candidate will join the Banking & Finance team in the firm’s Beijing office on various China and Asian based Banking & Finance matters.Duties include:

• Act for clients on inbound and outbound financing matters, general corporate secured financing, finance leasing, financial regulatory and compliance, structured products and derivatives
• Draft various agreements and legal documents
• Conduct legal research and prepare memos
• Participate in client meetings and negotiation sessions

REQUIREMENTS:

• Law degree from reputable university
• PRC bar qualification and / or Australia bar qualification
• 4+ years PQE
• Experience on financial and capital market transactions (e.g. CFETS, NAFMII, QDII) and structured products is desirably; knowledge and experience on general regulatory issues for Banking & Finance in PRC
• Overseas education or legal practice experience is preferably
• Excellent written and oral skills in English and Chinese
• Good organizational, negotiation and time management skills
