 THE EMPLOYER:
This is a US-based global law firm of over 600 lawyers, with a long, prominent history.The firm has 10+ offices worldwide.Currently it is seeking for Legal Translator to join its Beijing office.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful candidate will be responsible for translation of legal documents and non legal documents between Chinese and English. S/he will report to the Chief Translator.
General duties include:
- Translate documents from Chinese into English and vice versa, including word-processing, proofreading, editing, and vetting
- Work with the Chief Translator and other legal staff on assignments given by lawyers
- Work overtime as and when required
- Meet translation deadlines in all cases
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor degree or above in translation/linguistics/English/law from a reputable university
- At least 4-5 years' practical experience working as a legal translator in an international law firm
- Able to perform on-screen translation, i.e. directly on the computer, and have good working knowledge of the Windows/Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) software and good English and Chinese typing skill and speed
- Able to work independently with minimum supervision, fast and accurate, have an eye for details, willing to work overtime, able to provide interpretation service will be an asset
